The CDA Admission Process Overview

  • Step 1: New Student Inquiry Form

First of all, we need to know a little about you and your family’s educational needs. This is done through you submitting a New Student Inquiry Form to introduce yourself followed up with a 15-minute Explore Call. There is no obligation and you can ask questions about our school and Classical Christian Education in general.

  • Step 2: Application Form & Fee

Families must complete the long-form paper application and attach the $275 non-refundable application fee. The process cannot go forward without it. One very important piece is the Pastoral Reference which must be completed by your current home church pastor. There is an addendum to the application specifically for the 7th-12th graders with additional questions.

  • Step 3: A Visit To CDA

The best way to get an idea of who we are is a visit to our campus during school hours. Your time on campus will involve a tour of the building and a quick observation in the classroom. A representative of the school will be on hand to escort you and answer your questions. Allow about 30 minutes. This step may not be necessary if you have visited during one of our monthly mini open house events.

  • Step 4: Placement Testing

Placement testing allows us to recommend the right grade level for incoming students. It takes about 45 minutes to test a single student. Once testing is complete, the school will send you a formal report and a recommendation for placement if they were to attend our school. The testing Fee is $75 per student. This may be scheduled for the same day as your school visit. We do not test incoming kindergarteners, but do have basic readiness goals for them.

  • Step 5: The Formal Family Interview

Once the administration processes your long form application and you have accepted the placement recommendation, the decision is made to move forward with the formal interview. Both parents are required to attend unless special arrangements are made. We will spend 30 minutes going over your application responses and the school’s policies. Both parties must be certain that we will make good partners in your child’s education.

  • Step 6: Enrollment

Once the school has finished our process, we hope to extend an invitation to your family to enroll your child. You will be contacted by the office to finalize paperwork and financial arrangements. The office will guide new parents during the days leading up to the first exciting days of the new school year.
